The 5th graders at our school have been studying colonial America & working on a big project. They were divided into groups, given a specific topic to research, & had to write a report, script, paint a backdrop, & put together a costume. On Thursday, they presented Colonial Day. Students, teachers, & parents got to tour & hear a little blurb from each group. They did a fantastic job!
Later, they feasted in classrooms, paying close attention to the etiquette of that time period, like males standing up anytime a female was standing. The boys didn't enjoy this one quite so much & the girls took full advantage!!
They also took part in a colonial dance. They actually had to dance with girls!! Ewww!!
