Basketball Champs

The big boys were part of great teams this basketball season - they had fantastic coaches & teammates & played really, really well.  The tournament (pushed back & rescheduled because of weather) started valentine's weekend.

Taylor's team, the Lakers, had only 2 losses during the season. He played with some of his good buddies & had the same coaches (one being his daddy) from his championship team last year.  They won their 1st tourney game, but lost the 2nd, preventing them from making it to the final game.  The boys were pretty bummed, but had a fab season!

I guess this year was Timothy's turn for a championship.  His team, the Hooligans, were undefeated & he REALLY came out as a player.  We saw his confidence skyrocket as he turned into an outside 3 point shooter & aggressively scrambled for loose balls.  The team's undefeated season continued as they won every game of the tourney, including a thrilling championship game!

I didn't take as many pics this season (I feel like there have been SO many...), but I snapped several from Timbo's last game.  It was a wonder I got what I did...his daddy watched a lot of the game from Mobile through FaceTime on my phone!
That's the final on the scoreboard -- 50-26

This was a fun basketball season & I'm pretty proud of my guys!!

Lovely Weekend

I celebrated Valentine's Day with the guys closest to my heart...
I made a delicious, new meal, we had some tasty desserts, & opened valentine surprises.
We were most excited that Tim got to come home Friday night & spend the weekend!!
He brought all of us some great Jaguar gear - car flags, tervis tumbler, t-shirts, pullovers, caps, & visors.
It was a LOVELY weekend...

Moving South

Several weeks ago, Tim accepted a job as receivers coach and passing game coordinator at the University of South Alabama and has already moved to Mobile.  The boys and I will follow when school ends in May.

This move is truly bittersweet for us.  We love our life and home in Birmingham - our friends, schools, church, doctors, proximity to family, and on and on.  We have truly become invested in our community in the 7 years we've been here.

Although it's tough to leave, this is a wonderful opportunity for Tim and we know it's part of the plan for our family.  We're eager to see what will unfold in this next chapter of our lives!

Several great articles have been released about this new job.
Here's the link to one:

Timothy's Teen Bash

Timothy celebrated becoming a teen by having some family & friends over on Saturday.
It was funny to see him & his group of friends.
When Taylor had his 10th bday sleepover a couple months ago,
the whole group was LOUD & WILD!
This older group was polar opposite -
they quietly hung out down in Timbo's room.
They came up for food or cake or pics,
but would quickly & quietly head back down to hang.
Guess they're too cool to act like Taylor & his crew.
Must be a Teenage Thing.
What do you think about the mustache?!
I got it to match my son's . . . .:)
"Happy Birthday to Timothy"
(He just hates the spotlight!)
After eating & hanging out,
the guys (minus one who had to leave early)
changed into their dapper outfits &
headed to the Winter Dance at their school...
...but not before a few pics!
After arriving back home
(I'll won't mention dance details,
although a girl asked Timothy to dance...),
it was present time! Somebody racked up!!!
What a fun evening celebrating our 13 yr old -
still can't believe this child is a teenager!!!
Teen Funners!!!
