Since we moved & I stopped working, we switched over to my hubby's insurance, which was effective Sept. 1. One of the programs this insurance offers is something called "Baby Yourself" - a maternity program sponsored by "Be Healthy." You get a personal nurse, phone calls, & hospital & home visits (if you want). They also sent me some goodies in the mail - a nice, huge water mug, an informational book for parents, & The New Baby by Mercer Mayer. Tanner loves it; we've already read it several times!
I also turned in all of my necessary paperwork to get a breastpump. Under the Affordable Care Act, insurance programs are supposed to supply a free breastpump to new moms. However, depending on the insurance, the type you get free can vary -- translation, they might only offer bottom of the line/kind you don't really want. I wasn't sure what I would get with this insurance (I had heard things), but thankfully I got exactly what I wanted - a Medela double electric pump! They even mailed it directly to my house. Everything free of charge!! Woo hoo!!!
