Bowwow of a Ballgame

Today we played the Wofford Terriers, #6 in the FCS.
They are a great team, & we were dubbed as a 10 point underdog.

This was our last home game.
It was Senior Day.
We had a Red-Out.

We definitely had the makings for a doozy of a gameday . . .
we just didn't know how much of a doozy!!!

Things started out like normal . . .

But with about 30 seconds left in the game,
we were down by 8.
We came down the field & scored a TD as regulation ran out.
We had to go for 2, missed it, but (miraculously) there was a flag on Wofford.
We got another chance & the conversion was good!!

We headed to OT.
Our D stepped up big time & stopped them from reaching the endzone, then they missed a field goal!
Our turn -- didn't reach the endzone, but were confident in our great kicker . . .
Bet you guessed it (the irony . . .), he missed!

Double OT.
We scored a TD & extra point first.
The Terriers came out, & fumbled on their 1st play,
which we recovered to seal the victory!!!

WHAT A GAME!!!!

It was great to see our University President & his wife come down toward the end of the game & sit with the kids in the student section.

It was great to see them go out on the field with the crowd at the end of the game.

It was great to see our AD motion for the student section to go ahead & storm the field after the win.

It was great to see our coaches & players (& my boys) so happy.

 

Let the games after the game begin . . . :)

 

This was one of THE MOST EXCITING games I've ever witnessed.
(If I have future heart problems, I'll know exactly why!)
