So, right after Easter was the boys' spring break!
We were excited that the holiday was immediately followed by a break so that we could spend extra time with some family & friends. We decided that we would visit as many people as possible during our 9 day break, so we embarked on a Three City Tour...
We left Mobile Saturday morning & made the 5 hour trek north to Decatur. The previous post details the Easter Saturday & Sunday spent there. After a full weekend, we relaxed there with our family on Monday & Tuesday.
We got up early Wednesday morning & drove an hour south to good ole Birmingham, which we had not visited since the summer.
We went to Edgewood (me, Timbo, & Taylor's old school) first. It was so nice, & a bit overwhelming, to try to see EVERYONE! We tried to squeeze in seeing as many people as possible, from the office staff to teachers to students. They were happy to see the boys (& awed at how big they've gotten) & most of them were meeting Kallie for the 1st time. We spent just about the whole day there & still didn't get to visit with everyone. I guess we were so caught up with the visit that I didn't get ONE SINGLE PICTURE! You know that's not like me at all!! (As a matter of fact, I didn't get very many pics throughout the whole trip. I guess I was just enjoying the visiting...).
After finally leaving Edgewood, we went to Tanner's former school to see his old director, teacher, & friends. We hated to disturb naptime, but they were so happy to see Tanner!
We also stopped by to see a good friend of mine. We actually taught together for several years at Edgewood & she was Timbo's 2nd grade teacher. Her family moved away to Montgomery a couple years ago for work, but now they're back. Her oldest is the same age as Tanner & is already a little mama! She loved having Kallie around!! :)
After a quick bite to eat, we headed to our next stop - our old church, CBF Ministries. We have not been to church there since before we moved last June, so we were thrilled to be able to go for Wednesday night bible study. We could barely finish our meal because Tanner was rushing us out. He was scared we might miss something! Again, I didn't get the chance to take any pics, but a friend sent a few she took of the kids.
Can you see how pumped Taylor was to get back to one of his best buds, Korey?!
After church, we spent the night with my sis in Alabaster. My mom, Kallie, & I were nice & comfy in NeNe's bedroom, but she & the boys bunked out in the den. They loved it!
The next day we met up with my 2 cousins that live in B'ham & had lunch at one of our fave spots - Habanero's! You know you frequented a restaurant (regulars in a good way!) when you go back & everyone is hugging you & fussing at you for being away for too long!
Following lunch & a trip to the galleria, we drove another hour south to Tuscaloosa to visit w/ my other sis, her hubby, & a few friends there. Our 1st outing was to see some baseball. Gavin (my brother-in-law) coaches at Hillcrest Middle School & his team was playing in a postseason game. My crew loves (& is used to) being out at a game, especially this little chickadee...
Well, we spent Thursday & Friday nights in Ttown & enjoyed hanging out for a couple days there. We got up early Saturday morning to head south...3 & 1/2 hours back to Mobile. South Alabama's spring game was on that day at noon, so we needed to catch a little bit of that (more on that next post)! Our spring break road trip was jam packed as we tried our best to see as many of our family & friends as possible. With living so far away now & having our own busy schedules, it's hard to get back to visit. I'm glad we had a few days to get away; it'll probably be summer before we have this chance again! A big thanks to everyone (my parents, sisters & brother) who let us crash at their place & an even bigger thanks to my mother for traveling with us & helping out!!!
