Seeing Red

It was a Red Sunday for the Bowens Boys!!
And aren't they cute?!?

Even their good buddy Korey from church was in the color scheme. (I call him my 4th son!)

The King

So if you know us, you know who the king of our castle currently is . . .
TANNER BOWENS!

And this little king still sleeps in his parents room, not same bed, but same room.
(Don't judge us.  It's a long story.  And he IS the youngest.)

Anyway, I just have to share a bit of his bedtime ritual.
After his bath, he will usually sit in bed with us for a bit & have some quality time
(eating popcorn, watching T.V., reading a book, etc).
Then he will make the "long" trek from our bed to his bed
(which is at the foot of our bed, but the way he walks there makes
you think it's on the other side of the house).
Once he gets in his bed, he'll spend the next 20 minutes waving, telling us night-night collectively & individually, more waving, & saying yuv (love) you!
It is about the cutest thing ever. 

Fancy, Fancy

2nd graders started studying adjectives (describing words) this past week.  Since we started adding fanciness to our words, we decided to add some fanciness to our outfits on Fancy Friday.  Oooh la la, the ensembles & vocabulary were simply exquisite!!

Student Again???

As most of you know, I've gone back to school.
But this time, not just as the teacher, I'm also a student!

I started grad school at UAB last week.
I'm pursuing a Master's in Instructional Leadership & will be certified in Administration (meaning I can one day become an assistant principal, principal, or serve in some like kind of leadership role).
I have 2 classes a semester, which I go to one night a week, & have 2 field experiences each semester.
I will go for the next 4 semesters, & will be finished next spring.

I'm so excited to be on this new journey in my life.  I know with God's help (along with assistance from my hubby, kids, family, & friends), I will be & do fine!

I have really had to get back in my "student/college" mode & mindset; and, stay on top of balancing home, my 2nd grade classroom, & grad school. 
He'll never put more on us than we can bear! 
If He brings us to it, He'll bring us through it!!

Injury Report

I wasn't there, but I was told this incident involved Tanner, a stick, & running. . .
Another day, another injury at the Bowens house.

The Trophy

The Crimson Tide's National Championship Trophy,
the one received after shutting LSU out 21-0 last week,
was on display in various areas around the state this weekend. 
It was in Huntsville, then Tuscaloosa, then came to Birmingham on Sunday.
 It was right down the street from us, at the Publix here in Vestavia, from 11-3. 
Of course, The Bowens Bunch had to go and check it out!!

CHAMPS!!

Well, the Tide did it again.
#1 LSU was defeated last night as the Tide went on to win the 2011 National Championship.

Here are some of the numbers that stand out to us . . .
   21-0  (Yes, LSU was shut-out)
      1  (# of times LSU crossed midfield into Bama territory)
   14  (# of Bama's National Championships)
     2  (# of Auburn's championships)
   14 > 2  (Duh.)
   2 in 3  (Yep, Bama has won 2 championships in the past
                3 years)
    57  (avg # of years it takes Auburn to win a championship)
     6  (Past 6 championships/Past 6 years/All SEC.
                IMPRESSIVE)
   24/7/365  (Amount of time we bleed crimson)

After Crimson, our new favorite color is Crystal!!
And yes, I was among the crazy fans out at midnight getting championship gear . . .
  and I got it!!
