1st Scrimmage of the Fall

We had one of our first signs of fall today . . . football!
This morning we headed out to watch our first scrimmage of the fall! Woo hoo!!
Can you spot Coach Bowens in the next few pics?!
Football is our life & my boys love every minute of it!
There's always football after the football!!
Lilly & Tanner . . .
coaches' kids, schoolmates, & good buddies
Early Saturday morning...at least 100 degrees...7 months pregnant.
Coach Bowens is so lucky to have such a supportive wife!

More Family, More Fun

After my grandparents left on Wednesday, we had more family to arrive for visits. My mom came on Thursday & my sis came early Saturday morning, plus we had some new football friends over during the weekend. We always have fun hanging together no matter what we do & this time was no different!

We did lots of eating.
Here we are at one of our new fave places - Orleans Poboys.
This was our 2nd visit in a week! It's so delish!!
My mom & I went to a fun baby event at Babies 'R Us on Saturday morning. There were free samples, door prizes (we both won something!), & a super sale going on.
We left with lots of fab baby stuff!
NeNe had specifically picked this weekend to come visit because it was opening weekend of the new TMNT movie.  She & the boys (along w/ their buddy Taysuan) were all super pumped about going, except for one little guy who decided he was too scared.
The biggest project of the weekend was putting Kallie Larkin's crib together!! My mom, sis, & fellow coach's wife/new friend Natasha worked to get it together. Tim helped them finish it up when he got home from work.  They are so handy; they did a fantastic job & the crib looks beautiful.  Now her room is almost completely ready!
Great Job Girls!!!
Weekend Funners!!!

Last First Days...

I know it's hard to believe, but it's already back to school time!
The big difference this year is that my guys are heading back but I'm not!! So strange that instead of being in a classroom somewhere busily preparing for a school year, I'm being a full time mama!
Timothy started 8th grade today.
This was his last first day of middle school.
Unbelievable.
Taylor started 5th grade today.
This was his last first day of elementary school.
Wow.
Something brand new for me this year is tackling CARPOOL LINES!! Whew! They are no joke. Going through car traffic, dropping the boys off, & then going back home felt very weird.  It's something I've NEVER done! The traffic during the afternoon was even worse; I had to go home & rest & recover!!
After taking the boys to school, it was me & Tanner...just the 2 of us...until he leaves me too when he starts school in a couple weeks.

The Grands Down South

My grandparents, Papa & Mama Doris, came to Mobile to visit us for a few days this week. They were excited to see our new place & it was nice spending some time with our grands!

We did lots of good eating, including a late Monday lunch at one of our new fave spots called "Orleans Poboys."  It was delish!!

We also did some shopping & sightseeing (they got to see all 3 boys' schools & the South Alabama football office). The funniest part of the visit was watching Tanner with Papa (he calls him Hambone).  He wanted Hambone to be with him constantly.  He definitely turned into Mr. Activities Director & had all kinds of things for the 2 of them to do - they played soccer, watched movies (Papa said "Frozen" is the longest movie he's ever seen), colored, played with puzzles & superheroes, & made music.  Hambone even babysat the stuffed animals.  It was hilarious watching them. Tanner loves hanging out with Hambone & Hambone is such a good sport. The boys were sad to see their great grands go!

One other perk of the visit was the delivery of Kallie Larkin's armoire.  Her room doesn't have a closet, so we needed a dresser & an armoire for all of her things. My grandmother told us we could have this 100-year-old armoire that they had. Papa added rods to the inside & did some sanding & other work.  Then Mama D painted it white to match the rest of her furniture.  Tim & I bought pretty crystal knobs that they added to the drawers & doors.  I'm so happy it's done & they brought it so we could put it in her room & finally get her clothes put away.  It's so nice to have such a beautiful heirloom in her room!

BabyPalooza

Last Saturday, I ventured over to the Mobile Civic Center for BabyPalooza!!
It was like baby heaven -- full of vendors, massages, food, games, prizes, & giveaways.
There were mamas with big bellies, mamas with newborns, with daddies & grandmas in tow.
It was lots of baby fun! :)

Later that afternoon, I headed back home
to spend the rest of the day with my guys.
It was a beautiful day...perfect for playing outside, working in the baby's room & posing on the front porch!
